Before lighting any candle, trim the wick to one quarter inch. This will ensure smoke-free burning. Also, remove any wick debris that has fallen into your candle.
Consider the size of your room before burning candles. A rule of thumb is to have no more than one candle burning per 10 square feet. Candles need oxygen to burn. If a candle is burned in a small, confined area, it may smoke.
Do not place candles in direct sunlight. This helps guard against fading and candles may melt if left in an extremely hot area or automobile.
Avoid Drafts, Drafts will cause some soy candles to smoke.
Store candles in a cool, dry place.
Burn candles until a pool of melted wax forms on top. This will ensure an even burn all the way down the container. Remember to keep the wick centered.
Recycle the containers. When a candle has burned down so there is only 1/2 inch on the bottom, discontinue use and discard leftover wax. (Do not pour down drain.) Wash container out with soap and water.
Enjoy your candles! They are more beautiful burning than collecting dust!
